Hindu Temple In Dubai: A grand Hindu temple has been constructed in Dubai. A grand ceremony will be organized on Wednesday and the temple will be opened for the devotees. The country’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, will be the chief guest and Indian Ambassador to the UAE Sanjay Sudhir will be the special guests at the ceremony.

  • The temple building is located in the ‘Worship Village’ of Jebel Ali and the Guru Nanak Darbar is situated between the Gurdwara and several churches. It consists of 16 deities and a Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of the Sikhs.
  • “With the generosity of the UAE rulers and the support of the Community Development Authority (CDA), we are hosting the official opening ceremony of the Hindu temple in Dubai tomorrow evening,” said temple trustee Raju Shroff.
  • Apart from the Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and the Indian Ambassador to the UAE, several high-profile CDA officials are expected to attend the ceremony.
  • The temple trustee said, “Right now the preparations for the inauguration ceremony are going on and security checks are going on. Hence the temple will be technically closed for the public on Tuesday and will be opened for devotees on Wednesday on the occasion of Dussehra.
  • The temple website encourages devotees to pre-book slots. Devotees visiting the temple can book half an hour slot by providing their name, mobile number and email id. Up to four people are allowed in a group.
  • The temple will be open to the public from 6 am to 8.30 pm and devotees entering the temple have been asked to wear simple and modest clothes.
  • Many devotees have visited the temple so far. The doors of the temple were opened for the devotees on 1st September. Even during that time thousands of devotees had reached the temple for darshan. However, the official inauguration of the temple will take place on October 5.
  • 16 deities are placed in the main hall with ornate pillars, Arabic and Hindu geometric designs on the façade and bells on the ceiling with pink lotus on the central dome.
  • It took 3 years to build the temple. The specialty of this grand temple is that there are statues of 16 deities in its prayer hall. In which Lord Shiva, Krishna, Ganesha, Goddess Mahalakshmi are included.
  • The campus can seat 1000 to 1200 worshipers on a daily basis. At present there is a limit on the number of people visiting the temple every hour. However, from October 5, this limit will be removed and those who have booked appointments from the official website of the temple will be allowed entry without any restrictions.
