UP School Fees Story: Schools will have to return 15% of the fees charged during the Coronavirus period. After the decision of the High Court, the government has issued orders regarding this. It has been said in the mandate that all the schools of all the boards run in Uttar Pradesh will have to return 15% of the fees charged in the academic session 2020-21 to the students. Two methods have been described for this. Firstly, if the child is currently studying in that school as well, then this amount will be adjusted in his/her future fees. Secondly, if the child has left the school after studying, then this 15% amount will be returned to him. know that corona virus The government had issued a mandate on 27 April 2020, instructing the schools not to increase the fees in the session 2020-21.
A mandate has been issued regarding this by Dr. Rupesh Kumar, Special Secretary, Secondary Education Department. In this, the decision of the High Court has been cited, it has also been said that if any student, guardian or parent teacher association is upset due to non-compliance of these instructions, then it can approach the district fee regulator under the Uttar Pradesh Self-Financed Independent School Fee Regulation Act. Complaint can be made before the committee. If any such complaint comes, the District Committee will take a decision on it. If any school or person who is not satisfied with the decision of the District Fee Regulatory Committee can appeal to the Divisional Appellate Authority.
On the other hand, Anil Agarwal, President of the Unaided Private School Association, said that in the Corona period, most of the schools had given up to 20% fee waiver in view of the problems faced by the parents. There will be only a few schools which have not given such relief. There have definitely been some complaints regarding this from western UP. Anil Agarwal said that those who have already given 15% or more fee exemption, there is no issue left to refund their fees. But the parents will contact those who did not give fee exemption earlier and such schools should also follow the decision of the court and the government.
If things don’t work out, then we will go to court – Guardian Association
Regarding this, Mahendra Singh, President of the Guardian Association, said that we consider the decision given by the High Court and the order issued by the government after that as our victory. Rather, we feel that the government should have given such an order even before the decision of the High Court. Mahendra Singh says that the saying of the schools that we had already waived the fees to the children is wrong. Some of the parents who put a lot of pressure were relieved. The number of such people will be 5-10 percent. The rest did not get any relief in fees. Mahendra Singh said that if the school does not return the fees, then we will complain as per the rules. If even then things don’t work out, then we will go to court.
Certainly the decision of the court and the order of the government is like a boon for crores of students of the state. But the parents of these children do not seem to get this great relief so easily.
