Due to the expansion of Muzaffarnagar, the urban population has increased by 1.28 lakh people. Due to which the population of the city has increased from 3.82 lakhs to 5.20 lakhs. In the rapid survey, the percentage of Other Backward Classes in the city has come to 31. In this way the OBC population of the city can be considered as 1.63 lakhs. In the delimitation, 10 wards of the Nagar Palika Parishad increased.

After the expansion of the municipal council by adding 11 villages adjacent to the city, the district administration has released the details of the population of the backward caste families of the body.

On the orders of the Principal Secretary, Urban Development, a rapid survey was conducted for counting the population of Other Backward Classes in the extended part of the border. A 5-member committee constituted under the chairmanship of DM Chandra Bhushan Singh completed the rapid survey and released the figures.

Along with this, according to the report of rapid survey, the number of backward caste families in the newly fixed 60 wards of the municipality is 25 thousand 701. The number of people belonging to backward castes in these families is 1 lakh 63 thousand 284.

Backward castes constitute 31.39 percent of the total population in the urban area. In the figures released by the committee as provisional information, in 08 wards, the number of backward caste people is more than 50 percent, while 15 wards are like this.

In which OBC is between 3 to 4 thousand. The number of backward caste families in 2 wards is more than one thousand, out of which there are 1033 families in number 4 Sarvat-IV and 1309 in number 15 Almaspur-II.

According to the data of rapid survey, out of the top-10 wards of the city with the most backward caste population, only 04 wards have come from rural areas. Of these, 2 wards in top-3 are from rural areas. Ward number 15 Almaspur is at number one in the top-10 backward caste wards of the city. In this ward, 83.24 percent of the population belongs to the backward castes.

After this, 62.92 percent in Ward No. 57 Laddawala I, 61.58 percent in Ward No. 04 Sarwat IV, 61.03 percent in Ward No. 52 Mahmudnagar I, 57.53 percent in Ward No. 32 Kidwainagar, 57.24 percent in Ward No. 22 Sujdu II, Ward No. 60 Laddawala. 56.26 percent in third, 51.11 percent in ward number 39 Shahabuddinpur first, 46.76 in ward number 45 Malhupura first and 45.95 percent in ward number 34 Prempuri first are residing from backward castes.

Now this provisional information will be finalized after 30 October. There is a possibility of change in this, but it is also being claimed that this provisional information will be final.
